"Ty and I have really enjoyed the Ameritano horses that we have purchased from the Jaz Ranch over the years. They have all had such wonderful, trainable minds and excellent dispositions! Their athleticism made them a lot of fun to train and use here on our cattle ranch! We loved how smooth they were to ride several miles a day trailing cattle to new pastures.
We used them for all jobs on the ranch, from calving heifers to branding calves. They were excellent partners! Such a versatile breed that you can take in any direction!"

"My name is Marny Belt, and I have had the pleasure and privilege of working with Jaz Ranch horses the last eight years. In my work with horses, I have had the opportunity to experience a great spectrum. From welsh ponies, to draft horses, thoroughbreds, warmbloods, Arabians, curlies, crosses of all kinds, on and on. Though each horse is their own individual, each breed something unique to offer, there is one who stands out among the crowd: the Ameritano......

I am the owner of an Ameritano horse, which is the cross of a Lusitano stallion and a Foundation Quarter Horse mare. I bought him as a two year old unstarted gelding from Jaz Ranch in Levan, Utah, who developed this breed. I had briefly worked with him in the ranch’s round pen and immediately saw an unusually responsive and bright student ready for training. After years of starting colts I couldn’t ignore that he was special.

JAZ EBON 20 - A LOVE STORY
When Ebon was born in 2021, Jaz Ranch was delighted, as she was the special 20th foal out of Jaz Ebon Doll (NFQHA) whom we had bred and raised, and sired by E-Preto (Lusitano). Naturally we named her Jaz Ebon 20, and of course, she was sweet and beautiful.
When the unthinkable happened and she lost an eye from an accident we were devastated. We worried about how she would cope and what her future would be.
Our grandaughter, Mylee, had no qualms and fell in love with Ebon - and, on her side, Ebon had absolutely no problems in the herd or with basic ground training, and loved Mylee right back!
When Mylee took ownership of her as a two-year-old and put her in training at the stable she rode at, we were all concerned about how she would do. To our delight she took everything in stride and was easy to start under saddle. Her barn name is Velaris and she has become the darling of the stable and the horse everyone wants to ride!
Mylee is looking forward to her brand new baby boy, Vander, riding Valeris someday!
